Granite is one of the most durable materials available. Unlike Formica, it isn't subject to burning by hot pots and pans. Granite is resistant to staining and discoloring when properly sealed on a regular basis. Sealing is easily done by anyone, and a properly sealed granite counter top will maintain a beautiful shiny luster for a life time.

The main benefit to granite is that it is a natural solid material. Generally we recommend a 3cm granite, which is 1 ¼" thick, for all kitchen countertops. Reason being is that we are the roughest in our kitchens verses any other area of our home. We do, however, offer 2cm granite which is ¾" thick to our customers. With granite you also have the option to mount your sink underneath the countertop for a cleaner and more valuable look.

The colors and patterns that are available vary according to each granite distributor. Being a natural stone no two pieces of granite will look exactly alike. There will be variations in color and veining. These variations can be very slight to a completely diverse pattern.
